A Haven for Pollinators

This part-walled garden in Guildford was dark and overgrown, with large trees blocking much of the natural light. The client wanted a fresh start to bring the space back to life.

Most of the trees were removed, and a 6½-foot-high wall with piers was constructed to completely enclose the garden. Patios and pathways were added, alongside a striking pond with a waterfall. We completed the project with some raised brick planter beds and the whole garden was sown with wildflower meadow seed.

Within three to four months, the garden was awash with colour, which lasted well beyond the summer months. Flowering continued through the autumn, delighting passers-by who could view the garden through the iron gate. The transformation created a bright, vibrant space where nature could truly flourish, making this a thoroughly rewarding project.
